Templates
For the answers you give over and over.
A template is a saved reply for a question you answer constantly — pricing, availability, onboarding steps.
Templates versus drafted replies
A template is fixed text you insert. Fast, predictable, identical every time.
A drafted reply is written fresh from that thread's context. Slower, and specific to the person.
Use templates for genuinely repeated answers. Use drafting when the answer should reflect what this person actually asked.
Steps
- Inbox → Templates, create one.
- Name it after the question, not the answer.
- Insert it when replying, then adjust.
You're done when the answers you repeat most exist as templates.
Gotchas
- A template nobody edits reads like a template. Treat it as a starting point.
- For a process rather than a message, use a skill. Templates are text; skills are procedure.
