Getting started

Clear your task queue

One dated list of everything waiting on a human, and how to work through it.

About 5 minutes

The Foreman Tasks page showing the six filter chips: all, email, LinkedIn, social, publishing, my tasks and approvals
The unified queue. The chips carry live counts, so an empty one is genuinely empty rather than merely unvisited.

Tasks is the one place work waits for a person. It replaced three separate queues, so if you remember a "Review" or "My Tasks" page, this is where they went.

The filters

ChipWhat's in it
EmailDrafted email touches waiting for approval
LinkedInTouches you send by hand — Foreman never operates your account
SocialSocial posts awaiting review
PublishingScheduled publications
My TasksObjective tasks you personally claimed
ApprovalsEscalations, budget changes, permission requests, hires, strategy calls

Steps

  1. Open Tasks. Start with the chip carrying the highest count.
  2. Work top-down — the list is ordered by when things are due.
  3. For a drafted message: read it, then approve, edit, or ask for a revision in a sentence.
  4. For an approval: read what's being asked and who asked. Approve or hold.

You're done when the chips read zero, or everything left is genuinely waiting on someone else.

About the dates

Every row carries a due date. Some are real commitments; others are derived from when the item arrived plus a 24-hour response window. The interface distinguishes them, and you should trust the distinction — a derived date is guidance, not a promise anyone made.

Gotchas

  • LinkedIn touches are yours to send. Foreman drafts and queues them; you paste and send. This is deliberate, not a limitation.
  • An approval you hold doesn't vanish. It waits. Nothing silently proceeds because you didn't answer.
