Consent, suppression and screening
What the platform enforces automatically.
Several obligations are enforced by the platform rather than by anyone remembering.
| What happens | |
|---|---|
| Suppression | A suppressed contact receives no outbound, from any campaign |
| Unsubscribe | Honoured and applied going forward |
| SMS opt-out | Every SMS carries STOP/HELP opt-out; a number that opts out or is suppressed receives nothing |
| Sanctions screening | Contacts are screened and re-screened, not checked once |
| Incidents | Recordable, with the trail retained |
What is still yours
The platform enforces mechanism. You remain responsible for having a lawful basis to contact someone, for the regional rules that apply to your business, and for what your messages say.
Automatic enforcement is a floor, not a compliance programme.
Gotchas
- Suppression is workspace-wide and permanent by default — the correct default, because un-suppressing should be deliberate.
- Someone replying "no thanks" has exited a sequence, not been suppressed. Suppress explicitly if they should never be contacted again.
